How many times have you been told…
– that your art isn’t “necessary”,
– that it’s just a hobby and you should treat it like one,
– that you’re “a little bit off”,
– that you should be more “normal”,
– that you should consider getting a real job?
I don’t know about you, but I’ve grown tired of hearing stuff like that.
If you’re an artist, you’re the way you are because you were BORN that way.
“Artist” isn’t a job.
It’s not something you learn in a school.
It’s not something you become.
It’s not what you do.
It’s a singular way of being in the world.
It’s WHO YOU ARE.
Artist, you have a beautiful gift and the world needs you, now more than ever!
This is your call to arms.
Thank you
Amazing production Jim & Bekah. Thank you
Nice to hear from you again, Jim. The reminders in the video are a meaningful and useful path forward for many of us, myself included. Now I just need to get back into the thick of things.
Thx Jim and Bekah. Beautiful, inspiring, and TIMELY video. Be well and be artful.
Jim, the video, and the message resonate well together. I believe we are all artists. Having meaning in life is far more important than all the technology in the world combined. Connecting to another being regardless of race, creed, or religion, is vital to our survival. May we all stay on the path of humaneness and connect to our artist soul. Thank you for your contribution to this endeavor. Your humble friend!
Jim: Thank you for reminding me to seek out and embrace my silence…
INSPIRING! Thank you Jim & Bekah.
Excellent writing, well-done video. Thank you!
Really excellent video Jim. Thanks for the reminders and that art is an important contribution to our well being, no matter the artist….
An Absolutely wonderful Video. From your heart and soul.
I have finally taken the time to review your video and emails during this challenging time….thank you so much for your thoughts. We just have to remember there is so much waiting to be discovered about ourselves and the joy we can have just freely expressing being creative:cooking, singing, writing a few words, creating great visuals. Celebration can happen anywhere and anytime. Looking forward to your ongoing teaching.
Great video! Thank You!
I have to say with this pandemic that seems that it will never end. My creative side has been neglected since my paying job/work has become so consuming. Having to be on Zoom all day as an Occupational therapist in the school here in IL Is just a little too much. My eyes are tired and my brain hurts. Your video was so good to hear. To remind me what is important in life and reminds me that I need to find a way to get back to my creative side. Thank you
